Domaine de Chandon de Brialles, established in 1834, is led by Claude de Nicolay, who took over winemaking in 1988. The estate produces traditionally styled wines from Corton, one of the Côte d'Or’s most distinctive terroirs. Located just north of Beaune, the Corton hill is a limestone outcrop whose Grand Cru vineyards span Aloxe-Corton, Ladoix, and Pernand-Vergelesses, and it is the only source of red Grand Cru wines in the Côte de Beaune.
The estate has been farmed organically since 1998, building on early sustainable practices introduced in the 1980s. François de Nicolay joined in 2001 and helped transition the vineyards to fully biodynamic farming by 2005. Today, the siblings focus on soil health and site expression, using methods such as milk treatments for oidium, higher vine training, herbal infusions, and horse plowing across their 13.7 hectares.
